ABOUT JANE

Jane is a Jazz pianist and piano teacher based in Tucson, Arizona. She currently performs with her Jazz combos JAZZLAB and THE JANE KAISER TRIO. Her performance career is complimented by an active teaching studio, founded in 1988, in which she enjoys working with a student body of approximately 25 students, consisting of children, teens, adults, and seniors.

Her areas of musical expertise include Jazz and Improvisation, Classical, Contemporary, and Pop music at all levels. The Suzuki Approach of Talent Education is emphasized for elementary grade students. Music theory is incorporated in all lessons. Jane is an active member of the Tucson Music Teachers Association. Her students are invited to participate in all TMTA musical events.

Growing up in New York City, Jane studied Classical piano beginning at age five. She holds a B.A. in Piano Performance and Jazz Studies from the University of Iowa. She also holds Certification from the California and Colorado Suzuki Institutes in all levels of Suzuki Piano. She has performed with numerous jazz ensembles throughout the Midwest, including Bill Parson’s “Citizen’s Band”.  She is a founding member of the Matt Bevel Orchestra in Tucson, Arizona.

Possessing thirty years of teaching experience, Jane has been recognized both for her musical knowledge and her intuitive style in tailoring lessons to each student’s unique talents, interests, and learning style. She has prepared scholarship recipients to study Classical music at the college level. She enjoys teaching Jazz and Improvisation, having coached numerous middle and high school jazz band pianists and adult jazz musicians. She has taught generations of early elementary school aged students with the Suzuki Approach, many of whom have studied with her through high school.

She enthusiastically welcomes adult hobbyists, whether building upon previous piano experience, or starting as a beginner. Her students know her as having an innovative and enthusiastic approach, and for providing enjoyable lessons in a relaxed learning environment.
